Originally painted in Graphite and decoupaged with my fine art photography, I decided to change the drawers and try out a stencil that I designed using my Silhouette Cameo. I painted the drawers with Old White and lightly distressed with silver paint. The stencil is painted with Aubusson and I need to work on lining it up properly but on the whole, I’m fairly pleased with the result!
I wanted to achieve the French gild mirror frame look without breaking le bank. This is how I did it: decoupaged the plain frame with brocade wallpaper (I didn’t like the original paper, so it has gone to good use), then I painted it with Annie Sloan’s chalk paint called ‘Old White’. I experimented with dark wax but this just made it look ‘old dirty’, so I decided to lightly spray it with sliver paint and then lacquered it to protect it.
I am a little undecided about the final result..
