LPF & LPG News: October’s Festival | Master Class: Travel Photography | Exhibition Bridge Lounge

16-18th October: London Photo Festival

We are now taking bookings for October’s Festival and the theme is ‘landscape photography’.  Many landscape photographs show little or no human activity and are created in the pursuit of a pure, unsullied depiction of nature devoid of human influence, instead featuring subjects such as strongly defined landforms, weather, and ambient light.

Book your place now and upload your images by the 16th September.
http://www.londonphotofestival.org/bookings-october-2014

Would you like to volunteer for us and get £50 off your space? We are looking for two bar tenders for the Private View on the 15th October (6-8pm) and a photographer and a bar person for our Click ‘n Clique evening on the 17th October (6-8pm).  Get in touch if you would like to help.

Master Class with Zoe Whishaw: Commercial Travel Photography

Date: 16th October 2014  Time: 6.30pm – 9.30 pm

In years gone by, travel was more about pilgrimage as a religious journey with pilgrims seeking a change in their lives. Then there was the Grand Tour with the elite classes indulging on educational and cultural expeditions. Nowadays travel is all about escape, experience and discovery in the hope we can leave something behind as we explore unfamiliar lands, forging new memories and learning that bit more about ourselves.

This interactive evening workshop explores how the communication industry uses travel imagery as a means to communicate these ideas and emotions. We’ll explore:

• What type of imagery is most commonly sought after and why?

• What are the markets for travel imagery?

• How does advertising uses travel imagery?

• What are the attributes of successful commercial travel images?

• How can images get seen and ideally used?

What Zoe doesn’t know about the photography business isn’t worth knowing!  Book your place now and avoid disappointment.
