Not long now!

The founders of the London Photo Festival are pleased to announce the theme for the 6th biannual London Photo Festival which takes place in May.

“We created the London Photo Festival in 2011 to showcase up and coming talent and to provide new and emerging photographers with an opportunity to exhibit their work, have it professionally appraised and sell their work to the public.  We will be holding our 6th Festival in May and we hope to continue to grow and promote photographers from around the globe,” said Emma Mapp and Kit Shah, Co-founders of the London Photo Festival.

October 2013’s Judge, Zoe Whishaw, commercial photographer, editor and art director, formerly of Getty Images  http://www.zoewhishaw.com/Bio.html will be hosting a Master Class on From Emerging to Professional Photographer: Considerations and Practice” and tickets can be obtained directly  from the Festival’s website.   This May’s Judge will be Colin O’Brien.

The London Photo Festival continues to help, support and launch the careers of photographers:

“A little over 3 years in photography, the inaugural London Photo Festival in October 2011 was my first chance to exhibit my work. The cost was reasonable and the organization was professional and I found it to be a real stepping stone. It was encouraging that my photo, “Anatomica”, received the f/Factor or public vote for best in the show.

As a first opportunity to showcase my work it taught me how to choose the right piece to exhibit, how to choose a printing company as there are so many out there and how to price your work. Seeing the reactions of people to your work is also great, or sometimes the lack of reaction, either way it tells you a lot. You can’t learn this when showing your work online. Whatever the outcome, it’s a lesson,” said Nico Goodden http://www.nicholasgooddenphotography.co.uk
